Mary M. Micco, 93, of 731 Brooklyn Ave., New Castle, died the morning of October 23, in Jameson Hospital.
Born December 2, 1914, in Homestead, PA, to the late John and Elizabeth Eggett Saloki. She was married for 47 years to Anthony T. Micco, he preceded her in death in March 1986.
Mary worked at the former Pants Factory when she was young, and as a Kitchen Assistant at the former Holiday Inn in New Castle. Mary was one of the founding members of the Croton Ladies of the Dukes, and a member of the Catholic Slovak Association. Mary loved going to bingo, seminars with her daughter, shopping with her family. She enjoyed her dogs Barney and Chase.
Mary loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much, just being around them.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Houston of New Castle; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Richard L. and Linda Micco of New Wilmington; a brother, John Saloki of Ormond Beach, Fl; two grandchildren, Alan Houston and Alicia Micco; three great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Houston, Anthony Houston, Autumn Houston all of New Castle.
In addition to her parents and husband Anthony, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Ketchel and Elizabeth Krupa.
Calling hours for family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill Street.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Monday, October 27, for St. Mary's Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. The Rev. Victor Molka from Mary Mother of Hope Parish will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
