Irene D Maslyk , 85
Irene D. Masylk, 85, of 2402 Anne Dr., New Castle, died the morning of December 3, in LC Geri-Care 2016 W. Washington St. New Castle, PA 16101
Born April 21, 1923, in Widen, West Virginia to the late John and Mary Kanyuch Smith. Irene was married for 52 years to the late Edward Maslyk, he preceded her in death on May 1, 1977.
Irene was a Roman Catholic and member of St. Camillus Church. She was a loving homemaker for her husband and family. Irene was a graduate of New Castle High School. She loved to play bingo, garden, and raise flowers. Irene was a professional babysitter.
Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-laws, Edward J. and Linda Maslyk of Sun City, Fl, Robert J. and Deborah Maslyk of New Castle, and Raymond J. Maslyk of Jacksonville, Fl.; a sister, Helen Stroia of New Castle; many nieces and nephews; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents and husband, Edward, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Maslyk; and a brother, John Smith.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 5, at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill St. New Castle.
A blessing service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6, at the funeral home. The Very Rev. Philip Farrell, Pastor of St. Camillus Church will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
