Loretta A Walczak , 76
Loretta A. (Burick) Walczak, 76, of 3012 Old Pittsburgh Road, New Castle, Pa., died Sunday morning, Jan 4, 2009, in St. John Lutheran Special Care Center, Mars, Pa.
Born August 17, 1932, in New Castle, Pa., a daughter of the late Stephen and Wanda Cycon Burick, she was a homemaker and had been a personnel office clerk for five years at the former Johnson Bronze Co., New Castle.
She was a 1950 graduate of Shenango High School, and was a former member of the East New Castle Grange. Loretta was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Parish; had taught CCD on Sundays at the former SS Philip and James and St. Vincent DePaul Churches for 37 years, and was also a Eucharistic minister at both locations.
She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, traveling and helping on the farm.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Anthony P. Walzak; three sons, Dennis J. and Jolene Walczak of Baton Rouge, La., Robert M. and Dorothy Walczak of New Wilmington, Pa., and Thomas E. Walczak of New Castle; a brother and sister-in-law, James P. and Maryann Burick of Bessemer, Pa., and two grandchildren, Catherine Walczak of Houston, Texas and Stephen Walczak of Baton Rouge, La.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen M. Burick.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 7, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan 8, prior to procession for mass at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill St. New Castle.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday for St. Vincent DePaul Parish, St. Lucy's Church, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Kenneth Keene, pastor, will officiate.
Burial and committal service will be in S.S. Philip and James Cemetery.
