William "Porky" Presnar , 64

William "Porky" Presnar William "Porky" Presnar, 64, of 101 Elm St. Pulaski, Pa, died the afternoon of January 17, 2008, in his residence.

Born January 18, 1944, in New Castle, to the late Alex and Mary Duda Presnar. William worked as a machine operator for U.S. Can, in Hubbard, Ohio. He retired two years ago.

William was a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran. He served from Feb 13, 1961 to Feb 13, 1964 with the 4th U.S. Army, Co A 1st Bn 46th Infantry 1st AD. He then transfered to the U.S. Army Reserve until Feb 12, 1967. He held the rank of Tech Sgt, E-5, and received the military Sharpshooter (rifle) badge.

William was an avid reader and gardener. He loved to go fishing with his sons and really enjoyed going to their baseball games.

Survivors include two sons, Alexander "AJ" Presnar and Brendan Presnar of New Wilmington; friend and mother of his children, Erin Wilson of New Wilmington; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Grayce Presnar of New Castle; a sister, Betty Zelic of Alcalde, New Mexico; three nieces and nephews, Robert Presnar and Victoria Gouza of New Castle and Dan Zelic of New Mexico.

William was preceded in death by his parents and a cousin, Tom Presnar.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 21, at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill St. New Castle.

A Blessing Service will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Kenneth Keene, Pastor of St. Vincent DePaul Parish will officiate. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will provide military rites following the service. Burial will be in SS. Phillip and James Cemetery.

We will miss seeing Porky at WalMart and about town. He was always friendly and happy. He was so proud of his sons! We send our sympathy to them and the rest of the family.

We loved haveing him as a neighbor he would watch over our place when we were gone an always waved to us when we were outside. Like we always said one jurney ended while anough one began for his kids and we wish them the best and hope they pool through these hard times that they are going through right now and hope that the rest of the family is ok too and wish them all the best
