Milton Joseph "Hix" Hixenbaugh , 93
Milton Joseph "Hix" Hixenbaugh, 93, of Avalon Nursing Center, formerly of West Pittsburg, died the afternoon of June 15, 2008, in Jameson Hospital.
Born Jan 6, 1915, in Hundred, W. Va., he was a son of the late William M. and Mary Lemmon Hixenbaugh. He was married to the former Nellie R. Moore for 61 years. She died Nov 19, 2001. Mr. Hixenbaugh worked for 37 years as a machine operator at Arco/Palmer Plastics Co. in Monaca. He enjoyed working in his rose garden, collecting carnival glass, baking, and raising horses and sheep. He was a member of of Moravia Presbyterian Church for 10 years and a member of Raccoon Township Presbyterian Church for 35 years.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph R. and Patricia Hixenbaugh of West Pittsburg; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kathy-Jo and Bob Haggerty, and Wayne Hixenbaugh, all of Virginia Beach, Va., and Rachel and Roland Schumaker of Heyworth, Ill.; and three great-grandchildren; Devin and McKayla Haggerty and Skye Schumaker.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm tomorrow at the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 s. Mill Street for family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 8pm tomorrow at the funeral home. The Rev. Jason Hickman of Moravia Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rice's Pleasant Hills Cemetery, Pleasant Hills, Pa., alongside his wife.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Wendy Sue Hixenbaugh; and two half brothers, Raymond Main and Glen Main.
