Barbara E Hamill , 63
Barbara E. Hamill, 63, died the morning of August 1, 2008, at her daughter's residence, 309 Elmwood St. New Castle.
Born Decemeber 24, 1944, in New Castle, formerly of 1327 E. Washington St., she was the daughter of the late Ralph A. and Dorothy Jacobs Johnson. Barbara was married for 26 years to Walter H. Hamill, he preceded her in death on May 24, 1989.
Barbara was a certified nurses assistant for 49 years in New Castle, she worked for the Avalon Nursing Center most recently, and was formerly employed by the Hillview Manor, PARC on Long Ave., and Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Mrs. Hamill was a graduate of New Castle High School, She liked to sew, play bingo, and crochet. Barbara loved to go to Mountaineer and play the slots, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Barbara was affiliated with the Evangel Community Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Walls of Wilmington, Calif., Miss Donna M. Maggi of New Castle; a son, Daren L. Hamill of New Castle.; a brother, Ralph Martin Johnson of New Castle.; six grandchildren, JoyAnn Colvin, Michael Hamill, Frank J. Maggi Jr., Jonathan Maggi, Crystal Mullins, Daniel Maggi.; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Maggi, Damian Maggi, Isabella Maggi.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joey Hamill; a brother, William Johnson; and a sister, Martha Worrell.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, Aug 3, from 2-5 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill St. New Castle.
Following visitation, a Memorial Service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. Pastor Robert Strobel, from Evangel Community Church will conduct the service.
Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery, New Castle.
