Craig R. Boles, 61, died the evening of August 1, 2008, in Kindred Care Hospital, Beaver Co., Pennsylvania.
Born December 27, 1946, in New Castle, he lived at 915 Rose Ave, Craig was the son of the late Robert D. and Ruth E. Logan Boles. He married the former Ellen M. Winger, they were married for 37 years, she survives.
Mr. Boles was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He served from Jan 29, 1965 to Jan 28, 1971, with the U.S. Army Reserves. Craig received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Conflict Medal.
He was a graduate of New Castle High School, a member of the VFW Post #315, member of the Native American Red Hawk Society in Coitsville, Ohio. Craig enjoyed reading about history and was proud of his Indian Heritage, his mother was Lakota Sioux from Canada. He also loved to go hunting and fishing. Mr. Boles is retired, he worked as a laborer for over 30 years.
Mr. Boles was Protestant.
He is survived by his wife; Ellen M. Boles, daughters; Rachael M. Boles and Colleen E. Smith of New Castle, two sisters; Sally Kuhns of Connellsville, Pa., Jeannie Stevens of Arizona, and four grandchildren; Cory Smith, Jeremy Smith, Zachary Smith and Kayla Durbin of New Castle, and one great-granddaughter Naria Durbin-Feely of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and Friends will be received on Wednesday, Aug 6, from 5-7 p.m., at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill Street. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday evening at the Noga Funeral Home, at 7:00 p.m.. The Rev. Fredrick Gilbert will officiate.
