Eleanor D Buxton , 87
Eleanor D. Buxton, 87, of 1614 National St., New Castle, did the morning of March 4, 2010 in Chardon Health Care Nursing Home, in Chardon, OH.
Born June 3, 1922, in New Castle. Eleanor was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Kusner Duda. She was married to William R. McLafferty for 27 years. He preceded her in death in 1968. She was then married to James H. Buxton for 12 years. He preceded her in death in 1985. Eleanor was Roman Catholic.
Eleanor was a loving homemaker for her children and family. She enjoyed going to the casinos. But, she loved spending time her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.
Survivors include seven children, four sons and daughter-in-laws; William McLafferty, of Cleveland, OH, Patrick McLafferty and his wife, Judy, of Cleveland, John McLafferty and his wife, Dorothy, of Cleveland and Michael McLafferty and his wife, Faye, of New Castle; three daughters and son-in-laws, Sandra Waight and her husband, Edward, of Cleveland,OH, Eleanor Dombrowski and her husband, Ken, of Cleveland and Maureen Helbig and her husband Carlton, of Dalville Alabama; one brother, Paul Duda, of Arlington, VA; a sister, Connie O'Grady, of New Castle; two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Jay Duda and Mrs. Sophie Duda, both of New Castle; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews survive.
In addition to her parents and husbands, William R. McLafferty and James H. Buxton, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Duda, Andrew (Sam) Duda and an infant brother; a sister-in-law, Betty Duda and a brother-in-law, Charles O'Grady.
Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.
A Blessing Service will be conducted Monday morning, 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. The Rev. John Petrarulo, of St. Vitus Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
