Mary Kouroglos Magnu, 73, of Deerfield Beach, FL, formerly of Farrell, Hermitage area for many years, died the night of February 25, 2010, in North Broward Hospital, FL.
Born October 13, 1936, in New Castle. Mary was the daughter of the late Emmanuel Kouroglos and Julia Nuaros. She married John Magnu in October 1958. He preceded her in death in 1973. Mary was a member of St. Marks Greek Orthodox Church, in Boca Raton, FL.
Mary graduated from New Castle High School in 1954. She was a self-employed hair dresser and worked at J.C. Penney's restaurant as a hostess in Hermitage, PA for many years and later she worked at J.C. Penney's in Pompano Beach, FL.
Mary enjoyed going dancing and being on the beach. She really loved her grandchildren very much.
Survivors include a son, John Magnu, of Deerfield Beach, FL and a daughter, Joana Marrioti, of Hermitage, PA; a sister and brother-in-law, Fannie Galmarini and her husband Anthony, of West Pittsburg, PA; a sister-in-law, Soula Kourgolos, of Athens, Greece; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John; and a brother, Louis Kouroglos.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service was held in Deerfield Beach, FL by her family. A private service and interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, in Hermitage, at a later date. Local arrangements where entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.

My sympathy to Mary's family. I worked with her at Penney's for many years. We were friends inside and outside of work. Her smile lit up any room. I have many happy memories. One is of her always dancing to one of her favorite songs "Celebration" Now we "celebrate" her. Paula DeMatteo, Hermitage
