James Robert Edgerly , 77
James R. Edgerly, 77, of 105 Ludwig Rd., died the evening of August 12, at his residence.
Born August 16, 1930, in Detroit, M.I., to the late John T. "Jack" and Helen Opperman Edgerly. Jim married Joanne Morton on June 20, 1953. She preceded him in death on May 30, 1995.
Jim served as Vice-President, General Counsel, with Penn Power Electric Company, retiring after 32 years of service.
He graduated from San Mateo High School in California, in 1948. Jim went to Denison University, in Granville, Ohio and received his undergraduate degree. He continued his education to Law School at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and worked in Corporate Law for most of his career.
Jim was a longstanding member of the New Castle Country Club for 44 years. He joined in 1964 and was an avid golfer. He LOVED Michigan Football with a passion and always attended the home opener in Ann Arbor with his family and friends. Jim could be seen daily in his blue Michigan sweater.
But, most of all, he was extremely proud of his grandchildren and their accomplishments.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-laws, Jill and Dr. Gary Eden of Scottsdale, AZ., and Dr. Jane and Dr. Paul Nakazato of Tucson, AZ.; a son, John M. "Jack" Edgerly of Bonita Springs, Fla.; a sister Janet Edgerly of Birmingham, M.I.; and seven grandchildren, Will, Charlie, and Tony Eden, R.J. and Jake Edgerly, Hope and Pen Nakazato.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Joanne Morton Edgerly.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
