Richard T. Swartz, 64, of 1103 Butler Ave., New Castle, died the evening of August 17, at U.P.M.C. Shenango Valley, Farrell, PA.
Born November 27, 1943, in Greenville, PA to the late Clarence L. and Bessie Riley Swartz. Richard was married to the former Shirley L. Albertini for 33 years. He was Catholic.
He worked as a Forge Operator for over 20 years at the former Rockwell Axle Forge Department. He also worked as a Crane Operator for Trinity Steel Co. in Greenville, Pa for over 5 years.
Richard was a member of the Westminster Masonic Lodge, V.F.W. Post #315, Tall Cedars Club, and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting with his friends. He also loved to garden,cook, and raise flowers.
Richard was a Veteran of U.S. Army, from September 1963 to January 1967, Rank; Armor, PVT E-1, serving in Germany.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Angela M. Norris of Nashville, Tenn., Lisa A. and Frank Magliocca of Greenville S. Carolina, and Leslie N. Gramsky of New Castle; a son, Richard P. Swartz of Greenville S. Carolina; two brothers, James C. Swartz of Greenville S. Carolina and Bradley Swartz of Greenville, PA; a sister, Debbie Letcher of Greenville, PA.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Family will receive friends at the residence, 1103 Butler Ave., on Wednesday, August 20, from 6 to 9 p.m..
