Annetta G Coates , 70
Annetta G. Coates, 70, of 333 Hawthorne Road, New Castle, died the evening of July 2, 2010 in her residence.
Born May 10, 1940 in Connellsville, PA. Annetta was the daughter of the late John L. Lewis and Frances E. Piper. Mrs. Coates was married to Richard W. Coates. They have been married for 37 years, he survives.
Annetta was a loving homemaker for her husband and children. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Annetta enjoyed taking them to soccer, baseball and football practice.
Mrs. Coates graduated from Lawrence County Vo-Tech in 1970. She was of Protestant faith.
In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by five children; daughters, Vicki L. Fennell of Clintonville, PA and Linda L. Farley, of Hersey, PA; three sons, Ernest A. Verrill III, of Sharon, Roy T. Verrill, of Cummings, GA and David R. Pearson, of New Castle; one brother, Roy T. Lewis, of Swansboro, N.C.; two sisters, Estelle I. Miller, of Connellsville, PA and Pheroba L. Bowers, of Austintown, OH; two of her sixteen grandchildren, Linann R. Damron and John R. Zeve, both of New Castle, were raised as her children; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Coates was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Ralph Lewis; four sisters, Vera Guard, Sara Jane Mooers, Mercedes McElhaney and Joan I. McPherson.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 5, 2010 at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday evening, 8 p.m., at the funeral home. The Rev. Fredrick Gilbert of Independent Methodist Church will officiate.
