Laura A. Bodziach, 88, of 899 Bodziach Rd., Hickory Twp., died the evening of Aug 31, 2008 at her residence.
Born January 27, 1920, in New Castle, to the late Joseph and Sophia Sniezek. She was married to the late Joseph Bodziach for 58 years. He died December 30, 1998. Laura was Roman Catholic and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
She was a Homemaker for her family and Co-Owner of the family dairy farm.
Laura enjoyed sewing, making quilts, baking bread of all kinds and gardening. She also loved to make pierogie.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph F. Bodziach of New Castle, and Theodore P. Bodziach of Canfield, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law Kathy A. and David A. Brenner of Beaver, Pa.; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Henry and Eugene Sniezek; and a sister Helen Pajank.
Viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, Sept 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill St. New Castle.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Sept 3, at St. Joseph The Worker Parish at 10:00 a.m. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.. The Rev. Robert Schweitzer of St. Joseph the Worker Parish will officiate. Burial and committal service will take place at S.S Philip & James Cemetery.
