Nancy A. Kielar , 84

Nancy A. Kielar, 84, of 520 E. Friendship Street, New Castle, formerly of Union Township, passed away the afternoon of May 13, 2017 at the Golden Hill Nursing Home.

Nancy was born on February 8, 1933 in New Castle to the late Frank and Genieve Turek Leckwart. Mrs. Kielar was married for 60 years to the late Stanley J. Kielar Jr. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2013. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Slippery Rock University. Nancy then earned her BSN in Nursing from the Community College of Beaver County. Mrs. Kielar was a Sunday school teacher for many years at the former Madonna Church. Nancy was a devote Christian and lifelong member of the Catholic Church. She is currently of member of St. Camillus Parish.

Nancy retired from Jameson Hospital as a Supervisor and Head Nurse after many years of service. She also retired from Silver Oaks Nursing Home as the Director of Nursing. Mrs. Kielar taught Special Education at the Intermediate Unit #4 for Lawrence and Mercer County and she previously worked as an aide for the Overlook Medical Clinic.

Mrs. Kielar is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Deacon Dan (Karen) Kielar of New Castle and Paul F. Kielar of Mary Esther, FL; her brother, Frank A. Leckwart of Pittsburgh, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband Stanley, she was preceded in death by numerous Aunts and Uncles.

Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle.

A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, for St. Camillus de Lellis Parish, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The Rev. Michael Robert Peck, Pastor of St. Camillus Parish along with Deacon Dan Kielar will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to St. Camillus de Lellis Parish, 314 Englewood Ave., New Castle, PA 16105.

So very sorry for your loss. Nancy and I grew up together on Hanna Street. I have many fond memories of those days. Also I had some contact with her during our nursing careers. Pleas accept my deepest sympathy.
