Elmo C Fandozzi , 75
Elmo C. "Mick" Fandozzi, 75, of 276 Elmwood St. New Castle, died the afternoon of September 5, at his residence.
Born May 26, 1933, in New Castle, to the late James E. and Bertha C. Mercer Fandozzi Sr.. Elmo married the former Anna Shish on May 10, 1958, they were married for 50 years, she survives.
Elmo was Roman Catholic. Mr. Fandozzi worked for the Shenango China Corp for 37 years as a machinist. He also worked for the St. Francis Hospital for 10 years in housekeeping and for the meals on wheels program.
Elmo was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, holding the rank of Private First Class, he was inducted Feb 13, 1951 and was honorably discharged on March 12, 1952. Elmo was a heavy equipment operator while in the U.S. Army.
Elmo enjoyed woodcraft and going to the casino. He loved to go hunting and fishing, especially with his grandchildren. Elmo was very active with his grandchildren and loved to go to visit them.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters and son-in-laws, Cynthia M. and Blair Earnest of Penn Run, Pa, Theresa A. and John Henry of New Castle; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. and Jeanne Fandozzi of Merrimac, N.H.; two brothers, James E. Fandozzi Jr. of Ohio, and Kenneth Fandozzi of Youngstown, Ohio; four sisters, Marion Marker, Dorothy Kordish, Shirley Shidlemantle all of New Castle, and Jeannie Fandozzi of Youngstown, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Clements and Ruth Grim.
Viewing for family and friends will be held on Sunday, Sept 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill St. New Castle.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at St. Mary's Church on Monday, Sept 8, at 10:30 a.m. Procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. for mass. The Rev. James Downs will officiate. Burial and committal services will be at Madonna Cemetery.
