Amelia Lynn Boak, 76, was welcomed into Heaven by her Savior and loved ones on October 6th after an extended battle with metastatic breast cancer. Her children and granddaughter were by her side.
Lynn was born to Adolph and Margaret Miron in New Castle where she lived her entire life. After graduating from Shenango High School, Lynn was employed by Penn Power until she married her late husband, J. Richard Boak “Dick.” She and Dick raised three children Richie, Rachelle and Ryan.
She spent numerous years working alongside her mother at The Trading Post consignment shop in New Castle before assuming ownership. She was a devoted member of First United Brethren Church, active member of People Concerned for the Unborn Child. She loved camping in Erie, shopping, discussing politics, keeping up with her close-knit family and helping anyone in need. She thrived on leading an active lifestyle and was always on the go with her wonderful friends, sisters or companion, Tom. Her positive spirit and loving demeanor was felt by all she encountered.
She is survived by her 100-year-old mother Margaret (Cope) Miron; her long-time companion Tom Houston; her children Rachelle Harrison and Ryan Boak (Kim); her granddaughter Alyssa Palmer (Dan) and great-grandsons Leo and Henry; her sisters Pattie Scarnati (Rick), Margie Matthews, and Cindy Scaramazza (Paul); In addition to numerous nieces and nephews who she adored.
Lynn was preceded in death by her brother Billy; father, Adolph; son, Richie; husband, Dick; nephew, Jim McCormick; and brother-in-law, Jim Matthews.
Calling hours will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday, October 10,th at Noga Funeral Home, Inc. at 1142 South Mill St. in New Castle. The funeral service will be held October 11th at 11:00 am at First United Brethren in Christ Church in New Castle.
