Amelia Adeline Metz, 88, formerly of Fairmont Ave. passed away the morning of October 9, 2025 at Avalon Place.
Amelia was born February 10, 1937 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Wojciechowski) Dadejko. She was married to the late George A. Metz, Jr. They were married for 52 years. Mrs. Metz was of the Methodist faith. Amelia was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1955.
Mrs. Metz retired after numerous years of service a cook at the local hospitals and the former Golden Hill Nursing Home. Amelia will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother by her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Metz is survived by her three children, Brian Metz of New Castle, Geoffrey (Janine) Metz of Sharpsburg, and Leanne (Gerry) Marino of Cranberry; eight grandchildren, Katherine (Adam Brode) Marino, Nicholas (Katy) Metz, Byron Metz, Caitlin (Jason) Artrip, Vincent Marino, Allyson Metz, Alyssa (Cody) Ledsworth, Alexander Metz; and two great-grandchildren, Tanner Kelly, and Charlotte Artrip.
In addition to her parents and husband George, Amelia was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Michael (Loni) Metz; and two sisters.
