Ann B. (Lockovitch) Smolkowicz

Ann B. Smolkowicz, 97, of 380 Villa Maria Drive, formerly of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of October 2, 2024 at her residence.

Ann was born August 23, 1927 in McKeesport, PA. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edith (Smith) Lockovitch. Ann married the late Frank T. Smolkowicz. They were married for 50 years. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1999. She was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish. Ann was a graduate of McKeesport High School, class of 1945.

Mrs. Smolkowicz retired after numerous years of service with the Pennsylvania Department of Public Assistance. Ann enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, and bingo. She was also an avid reader. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her son, Frank H (Jean) Smolkowicz of Atlantic Beach, NC; three grandchildren, Leslie Smolkowicz, Lara (Jerry) Johns, and Lauren (Richard) Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Justin Johns, Nora Johns, Lyla Smith, and Stella Smith.

In addition to her parents and husband Frank, Ann was preceded in death by three brothers, Warren, Harry, and James Lockovitch; and one sister, Edith Tognarini.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle, PA. 16101.

A blessing service will be held immediately following visitation at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate. Burial will be In S.S. Philip and James Cemetery.
