Anthony R. Frasso, 88, of New Castle passed away on the morning of May 24, 2024 at Masternick Memorial, New Middletown OH.
Anthony was born on June 16, 1935 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Frank and Josephine (Marcell) Frasso. Anthony was married to the former Grace J. Lupo. She survives at home. Mr. Frasso was of Roman Catholic Faith. Mr. Frasso graduated from New Castle High School, class of 1953.
After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army on September 2, 1954 in New Castle, PA. He was a member of Battery B 7538 and earned the rank of SP-3. Mr. Frasso received many decorations and citations, among those were the rank of sharpshooter with both rifle and anti-aircraft weapons, and the Good Conduct Medal. Anthony was Honorably Discharged on June 21, 1956 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Mr. Frasso retired after 50 years of service as a shoe repairman with the former A/F Shoe Repair. Mr. Frasso was a member of the Mahoning Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting and gardening. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Grace, Anthony is survived by his sons Anthony (Nancy) Frasso and Frank (Cheryl) Frasso: daughter, Alexandria Kubina; brother James (Leah) Frasso of Florida; sister, Stella (Stanley) Magusiak of New Castle; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Emily (Bill) Peters of Poland, OH, and Carole (Sonny) Lupo of New Castle.
Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Mary Lee Feo.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 29, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street New Castle. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Honors at 6:45 pm in the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 10:30 am at Holy Spirit Parish-St. Vitus site. Rev. Benjamin Barr, Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
