Anthony Kos, Jr. 83, of West Pittsburg, passed away on December 16, 2020 at Salem Regional Medical Center in Salem OH.
Anthony was born at home in West Pittsburg on January 18, 1937 to the late Anton and Anna (Schultz) Kos. Anthony died of a broken heart 120 days after losing the love of his life the late Barbara E. (Hritz) Kos. They were married for 61 wonderfully blissful years. She preceded him in death on August 17, 2020.
Anthony retired after 32 years of service from Rockwell International Axle Division in skilled trades as a machine repairman. Anthony was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a member of Holy Spirit Parish, and a graduate of New Castle High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and golfing. He was a marvelous and proud grandparent who enjoyed spending time with and supporting his grandchildren and great-grandson in all of their lives activities.
Anthony is survived by his children, Dr. Anthony J. (Lisa) Kos of Transfer, PA and Susan Shoaff of West Pittsburg, PA; sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Evanoski of Youngstown, OH; grandchildren, Mark A. Shoaff, Stacie C. (David Pearson) Shoaff, Hunter A. Kos, Lauren O. Kos; and great-grandson, Anthony E. Pearson. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, John Kos, Carl Kos and Robert Kos.
A Private visitation was held this morning at Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle PA 16101. As patriarch of the Kos family Anthony would believe it is important to say good bye to all the family and friends who are unable to attend calling hours due to the pandemic. If he could, he would thank you all for enriching his time and helping to make his life one that was truly well-lived
A Blessing service for the family will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Seminarian Merv E. Knieriem from Holy Spirit Parish officiated. Interment will take place at Madonna Cemetery.
