Barbara A. (Krueger) Lidak

Barbara A. Lidak, 88, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of May 26, 2024 at UPMC Jameson Care Center.

Mrs. Lidak was born September 23, 1935 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Constance R. (Falba) Krueger. Mrs. Lidak was married to the late Leonard S. Lidak; he preceded her in death on December 1, 2016. They were married on April 30, 1955 and spent 61 years together. Barbara was Roman Catholic and a member of Holy Spirit Parish-St. Vitus site. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1953.

Mrs. Lidak retired after 39 years of service as Supervisor of the Property Department with Liberty Mutual in New Castle. Barbara was a member of the Polish Falcons, Nest #146. She enjoyed doing puzzles, shopping, watching her grandson’s sporting events, and watching NFL football on television.

Barbara is survived by three daughters, Laurie A. Lidak, Paula J. Chmura and Jodi L. (Russell P.) Uram, all of New Castle; sister, Diana McConnell of New Castle; and her four grandsons, Anthony Uram, Andrew Uram, Adam Chmura, and Bryan Chmura.

In addition to her parents and husband Leonard, Barbara was preceded in death by three sisters, Judith Crews, Laurel Frank, and Constance Amodie; and brother-in-law, Paul C. Lidak.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle. Additional hour will be held for 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024 in the funeral home.

A Blessing Service and Rite of Committal will be held at 11 a.m. Friday morning following visitation. The Rev. Aaron Kriss, Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will take place at S.S. Phillip and James Cemetery.
