Bernadette M. Przybylski

Bernadette M. Przybylski, 91, formerly of 1612 Hanna Street in New Castle PA., passed away the evening of September 28, 2026 at New Castle Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was the last of eight children born to Stanley C. and Mary C. (Smolkowicz) Przybylski on August 2, 1935.

Bernadette graduated from Villa Maria High School in 1953. She had also studied music for a year of high school In Syracuse NY. She spent the majority of her career working for the Johnson Bronze Company in New Castle, while later being employed by the George Ku bus company in Mt. Jackson and the GNC Credit Union, from where she retired in 2000. Bernadette was also the organist for over 30 years at the SS Philip and James Catholic Church in New Castle and later the various worship sites of the former St. Vincent DePaul parishes.

Ms. Przybylski loved her Polish heritage and was a founding and long serving member of the Polish American Central Committee (now Polish Americans of Lawrence County) in New Castle. She was also treasurer of the local Polish National Alliance Lodge. In addition, she was a former member and past president of the Altar Society of SS Phillip and James Church.

She loved to travel and made several trips to Poland to visit extended family. She also went on many religious pilgrimages throughout her lifetime. She was especially fond of her trip to Toronto, Canada to see Pope John Paul II in person. She also loved crafts and was well known for her Polish Easter eggs and handmade Polish Christmas decorations.

Bernadette was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Otillia Przybylski and Lembertha (Walter) Karsonovich; brothers, Henry (Jean) Przybylski and Joseph (Rose) Przybylski; sister Adele (Walter) Rzecznik; brother, Adolph (Martha) Przybylski; infant sister, Amelia Przybylski; two nieces; as well as long-time companion Stanley Fiejdasz.

She is survived by ten nieces and nephews as well as many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct 2, 2026 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle.

A Blessing service will be held immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in SS. Phillip and James Cemetery.
