Carlos D. Akins, Jr. 22 of New Castle passed away the morning of August 9, 2023 at home, after an extended battle with cancer with his family beside him.
Carlos was born August 16, 2000 in New Castle. He was the son of Carlos and LaRissa (McKinney) Akins, Sr. His parents survive at home. He was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 2018.
Carlos played football and was a member of the track team at New Castle High School. He was an avid gamer and enjoyed rebuilding personal computers for his friends. He will be sadly missed by his dog and best friend Zuri. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his nephew Keyari.
In addition to his parents, Carlos is survived by his two sisters, Ta’Jynee Akins and Emily D’Ambrosi, his nephew Keyari Ace, his uncle Addaryl Akins and little cousins Ameir Akins, His brothers from another mother Julian Medina, William Mathews, James Brest (Bubba), D’Andre Lane and Anthony Bailey, and a host of aunts and uncles of New Castle.
Carlos was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jacqueline Akins and James Carmen; maternal grandfather, Vernon Mckinney Sr., his cousin Teavon Harris and his brother/best friend Amari Wise.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle, PA
A Home Going Service will be conducted immediately following visitiation in the funeral home. Pastor James E. Holmes of St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Cremation to follow.
