Charlene J. Daytner, 83 of 4243 Meadowview Blvd, passed away the morning of June 21, 2024 at UPMC Jameson.
Charlene was born November 3, 1940 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Jessie (Hays) Rowe. Charlene was married to the late Sidney G. Daytner. They were married for 55 years. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2018.
She was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1958. Mrs. Daytner continued her education graduating from Geneva College. Charlene was employed with the Social Security Administration until her retirement. She enjoyed attending family gatherings, traveling, reading, and spending time with her card club friends. She was also a volunteer as a Friend of the Library.
Charlene is survived by her brother-in-law Edward and Sallie Daytner, sister-in-law Pearl Daytner and nine nieces and nephews: Renee Daytner, Lori Daytner, Kathleen Daytner, Sandi Daytner, Allen (Theresa) Daytner, Karen (Dale) Long, Brian Daytner, Cheryl (Jason) Steele, and Gary (Katrina) Daytner, as well as twelve great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband Sidney, Charlene was preceded in death by her nephew, Eric Daytner.
Following in Charlene’s wishes there are no hours scheduled at this time.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday July 3, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Rev. David A. Snyder of St. John’s Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
