Daniel Andrew Gall, a lifelong resident of New Castle, PA, went to be with the Lord the morning of August 23, 2026 in UPMC Jameson Hospital at the age of 74. Daniel was born to Gerald H. and Olga (Shabala) Gall on July 12, 1952. He graduated from New Castle Senior High School in 1970. He graduated from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music in 1975. He started his music teaching career in Youngstown, Ohio parochial schools in 1977. He also did substitute teaching in the New Castle vicinity. He finished his teaching career in the Youngstown City School District as an elementary, middle school and high school band/choir director, general music teacher for 18 years.
Daniel taught private music lessons for years on the flute, clarinet, and saxophone at Donati Music, Veri’s House of Music, and Music Showcase in New Castle, at Ron Chick’s Village Music, Dusi Music, Saunder’s Music in Youngstown, Ohio, Sheare’s Music in Butler, Pa. and Ellwood City Music in Ellwood City, Pa. He also played saxophone for the Lawrence County Community Band and Mercer County Band.
Daniel is survived by his goddaughter Samantha (Steve) Schwarz of Madeira, OH; his cousins Cindy and Alan Prince of Poland, OH and Jack and Georgiann Gall, and their son Aaron Gall of New Castle, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald H. and Olga (Shabala) Gall; his maternal grandparents, Daniel and Catherine Shabala; and his paternal grandparents, Andrew and Mary Gall.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle, PA. Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. following visitation, Rev. Richard Shira will officiate. Burial will take place in Oak Park Cemetery.
