Darla R. Manski, 86, of Meadowview Blvd formerly of New Wilmington, PA passed away the afternoon of December 17, 2025 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Darla was born June 17, 1939 in Oakdale, PA. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth E. (Bigger) Avery. Darla was married to Lawrence A. Manski on December 24, 1969. They were married for 56 years. He survives at home. Mrs. Manski was a graduate of West Allegheny High School, class of 1957.
Mrs. Manski worked as a secretary with PPG paints for numerous years straight out of high school. She continued working and retired after 30 years in the housekeeping department at the Ryder’s Restaurant and Motel. Darla will be remembered by her family as a loving sister and mother. She enjoyed working outdoors, decorating her home for the holidays. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially caring for her daughter Leigh.
In addition to her husband Larry, Darla is survived by her two daughters, Alana (Clinton) Dicks of Portersville, PA, and Leigh Manski of New Castle; sister, Charlene Davis of Delmont, PA; three nephews, Jeffrey (Maria) Davis, Kevin (Ruth) Davis, and Andrew (Cindy) Manski.
Darla was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Justine Manski; two brothers-in-law, James Davis and Paul Manski; and two nephews, Douglas Davis and Thomas Manski.
Following her wishes there are no calling hours of services scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking memorial donations be made in Darla’s name to Canine Companions P.O. Box 446 Santa Rosa, CA 95402-0446. Local arrangements were entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 New Castle, PA 16101.
