Darlene J. (Golling) Shepka

Darlene J. Shepka, 85, of 501 Leasure Ave. New Castle passed away the morning of August 31, 2023 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Darlene was born November 1, 1937 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Edna (Miron) Golling. Darlene was married to Anthony Shepka. He preceded her in death in 2004. She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. Darlene was a graduate of New Castle School, class of 1955.

 Darlene retired after more than 37 years of services in the clerical department of both Standard Oil and Liberty Mutual Insurance Companies. Darlene enjoyed going camping, visiting with friends, going on cruises, and was active with her local Kingdom Hall. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Shepka is survived by her brother, Michael Golling of New Castle; sister, Erminia (Gary) Sizer of New Castle; four nieces, Jodi Proctor, Debra Stephenson, Danielle Gramsky, Kiley Ottaviani; one great niece; and three great nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Anthony, Darlene was preceded in death by two sisters, Mevina Stephenson, and Patricia Newkirk.

Following in Darlene’s wishes there are no calling hour or services scheduled at this time. Local arrangements entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street New Castle.
