David A. Rashid

David A. Rashid, 60 of E. Washington St. passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 1963 at his residence. 

David was born December 5, 1963 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Carl C. and Helen D. (Colucci) Rashid. David was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1981.

Mr. Rashid was a long time employee at the former Rashid’s Oriental Rugs. He currently was working with Hilton Tree Service as a laborer for his cousin and friend, Bob Hilton. He enjoyed playing guitar, being outside grilling and gardening, and old western movies. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He also enjoyed his cats Luna and Star. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his beloved daughters.

David is survived by his two daughters, Aurora M. Rashid and her partner Nathan Spak of Pittsburgh, PA, and Alina M. Rashid of New Castle; brother, Dr. Marc S. Rashid and partner Jeffrey Puskar of Poland, OH; two sisters, Beth Rashid-Danielson of New Castle, and Lisa A. Rashid of Pittsburgh, PA; his first wife and dear friend, Anna Ortiz of Bessemer, PA; and niece, Carly Danielson of Cranberry Twp. PA. He is also survived by an Aunt Carol (Richard) Adams of New Castle, as well as many beloved cousins. 

Mr. Rashid was preceded in death by his parents.

Following in David’s wishes, Private visitation and services will be held next week for his immediate family. Arrangements were entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle, PA 16101.
