Donald H. Dillon

Donald H. (Poppy) Dillon, 68, of 109 Coates Avenue New Castle passed away the morning of July 19, 2022 at Jameson Hospital.  

Donald was born November 25, 1953 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Eugene and Ruth Holly Dillon. He was married to Janet Dillon for the late 45 years. Mr. Dillon was a graduate of Mohawk High School, class of 1971. Donald was of the Protestant faith and attended the Church of Christ.

Mr. Dillon worked as a laborer at LTV Steel in Youngstown for several years. He retired after 25 years of service as a truck driver with several different local companies. He was an avid Pittsburgh Sports fan and enjoyed watching Hogan's Heros reruns at night.

Donald is survived by his son, Gage Crews of New Castle; brother, Larry (Joyce) Dillon and Joel (Lori) Dillon both of New Castle; sisters, Holly (Bryan) Hobel and Lisa Suisi both New Castle; Daughter-in-law, Amy Crews; Granddaughter, Riley Crews and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by two sons, David and John Crews; and paternal and maternal grandparents, Richard (Mary) Dillon, and Homer and (Minnie) Holly.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 11 to 1 pm at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 Mill Street, New Castle.

A Funeral Service will be held immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Pastor Gary Smith of the Church of Christ. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
