Donna L. (Hasson) Potoczny

Donna L. Potoczny, 73 of New Castle passed away the morning of June 30, 2024 at the Haven Nursing Home.

Donna was born January 26, 1951 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie Lillian (Mello) Hasson.  Donna was married to the late Stanley A. Potoczny. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2014. They were married for 40 years. Mrs. Potoczny was a graduate of Union High School, class of 1969. She was of the Roman Catholic Faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish.

Mrs. Potoczny retired after numerous years of service at the former Golden Hill Nursing Home as a nurse’s assistant. Donna loved her work and taking care of people. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to bingo. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her two sons, John A. (Jonelle) Potoczny of RSM, CA and Michael Potoczny of New Castle; three brothers, Joseph (Barbara) Hasson, William (Judy) Hasson, and James (Donna) Hasson, all of New Castle; one sister, Marylou (Gary) Lutz of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Olivia, Parker, and Jaxon Potoczny.

In addition to her parents and husband Stanley, Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Hasson.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at Madonna Cemetery at a later date.
