Doreen F. (Wyza) McCormick

Doreen F. McCormick, 69, of 241 Cambridge St. Apt. 415 New Castle passed away the afternoon of April 20, 2024 at the Grove in New Castle.

Doreen was born September 30, 1954 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Zimmerman) Wyza. Doreen was married to the late John McCormick. They were married for 11 years. Mrs. McCormick was of the Christian faith. Doreen was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1972.

Mrs. McCormick will be remembered by her family as a loving sister, and aunt. She enjoyed going to the casinos, playing bingo, playing all types of card games, taking walks, baking, and was a big music fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews.

Doreen is survived by her three sisters, Bari Lynn Lambert of Mineral Ridge, OH., Kathy (Daniel) Wolfe of Pleasantville, PA Cindy Majors of New Castle; six nieces and nephews, Angie Pounds, Michael Watson, Amy McMillen, Jarrod Wolfe, John Majors, and Crystal Majors.

In addition to her parents, Doreen was preceded in death by two sister, Sandra (Cookie) Rea, and Karen Watson; brother, Stanley (Butch) Wyza and nephew, Tommy Lambert.

Visitiation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 12 to 1 pm at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle

A Funeral Service will be held immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Rev. John Ettinger will officiate he is Doreen first cousin. Burial for Doreen will be at a later date.
