Dorothy I. Aven

Dorothy I. Aven, 75, of110 Fredonia Road, Greenville, PA passed away the morning of December 21, 2020 at The Grove Nursing Center.

Dorothy was born October 15, 1945 in New Wilmington, PA. She was the daughter of the late Walter (Tim) and Ann (Lucas) Wagner. Dorothy was a graduate of New Wilmington High School, class of 1963. She continued her education and graduated for Jameson School of Nursing in New Castle. Mrs. Aven was Roman Catholic and attended Holy Spirit Parish-St. Camillus site.

Mrs. Aven retired after more than 38 years of service a nurse at Jameson Hospital in New Castle, St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Youngstown, OH, a Hospital in Las Vegas and as a visiting nurse in Las Vegas, NV. Mrs. Aven also worked at the Villa Maria Community Center. She loved to go dancing and enjoy her family and grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Amy (Aven) Lundy(Jerry) of Huntington WV, a son-in-law Jerry (Carole) Glass,  two brothers, Joseph (Charlotte) Wagner of Titusville, PA, and Darrell Wagner of New Castle;  brother-in-law, Frank Germick of Meadville, PA; four grandchildren, Gabriella Glass, Christian Glass, and Joshua Glass, all of North Carolina, and Caitlynn Glass of Las Vegas, NV.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by daughter, Dana Glass, two sisters, Martha Ann Germick, and Mary Ann Wagner.

There are no calling hours scheduled at this time. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020 for immediate family at St. Rose Cemetery.  Committal service and inurnment will be at St. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum. Local arrangements were entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street. Instead of sending flowers, Dorothy would have preferred a donation to Cancer Society or St Jude's Hospital in her name.
