Edward W. Jopek, 66, of 1506 Wilson Ave. New Castle passed away the evening of February 5, 2021 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Edward was born November 3, 1954 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Edmund W. and Ida E. (Barbati) Jopek. Mr. Jopek married the former Joann Balog. They were married for 39 years. She survives at home. Edward was of the Christian faith. He was a graduate of Mohawk High School, class of 1972.
Mr. Jopek retired after 10 years of service as the Assistant Manager at Giant Eagle in Ellwood City. He also worked at the former Shenango China Corporation here in New Castle. Mr. Jopek was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and enjoyed golfing with his friends. Edward loved everything the “Beatles” and enjoyed their music. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren; he loved having them around him.
In addition to his wife Joann, Edward is survived by his daughter, Lisa A. (John) Kettler of Hubbard, OH; brother, Thomas C. (Rose) Jopek of New Castle; sister, Linda Luther of Poland, OH; and four grandchildren, Kali, John, Kenzi, and Kaylan Kettler.
Mr. Jopek was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents, Edmund and Ida Jopek.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 12:30pm Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street New Castle.
A Memorial Service will immediately follow visitation in the funeral home. Pastor Matthew Bupp will officiate. Arrangements were entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home, Inc.
