Elinor Davis Obituary

Elinor J. Davis, 92, of New Castle passed away the morning of March 18, 2020 at her residence, with her family by her side.

Elinor was born on March 19, 1927 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Fred K. and Thelma (Thomas) Wallace. She was married to the late Robert L. Davis. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2001. They were married for 53 years. Mrs. Davis was of the Protestant faith and attended First United Brethren Church. Elinor graduated from Union High School, class of 1944.

Mrs. Davis retired after numerous years of service at the former Bell Telephone / Ohio Bell as an Operator and finishing her career as a Drafting Clerk. Elinor was a member of Bell Pioneer’s. Mrs. Davis is member of the Jameson Junior Guild; she was a former board member and served as past President. Jameson Hospital was a big part of her life; she proudly volunteered as a (Pink Lady) for many years along with her many friends.

Elinor is survived by her three daughters, Barbara (John) Exposito of New Castle, Beverly A. Davis of Austintown, OH, and Robin D. Malinchak of New Castle; four grandchildren, Andria (Timothy) Crawford, Jordan Malinchak, Tyler Davis, and Audrey (James) Funera; and five great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog Izzy.

In addition to her parents and husband Robert, Elinor was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas L. Wallace.

There are no calling hours scheduled. A private graveside service will take place for the family next week at Graceland Cemetery. A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date at the Noga Funeral Home 1142 South Mill Street.

A service will be conducted on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Graceland Cemetery. Rev. Marc Stephenson of First United Brethren Church will officiate.
