Emily Mrozek, 95, formerly of New Castle passed away the morning of June 19, 2024, at Hospice House, Hospice of the Valley, in Boardman OH. Emily was born April 10, 1929 in New Castle, PA. She was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Knox) Duda. Emily was married at St. Michael’s church to the late Edmund F. Mrozek, who preceded her in death on December 20, 1989. Mrs. Mrozek was Roman Catholic and a member of Holy Spirit Parish- Mary Mother of Hope. Emily was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1947.
Mrs. Mrozek, known to her loved ones as Ki, was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan, loved card games, casinos, as well as playing bingo and gardening. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family, vacations in Ocean City and especially time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Emily is survived by her children Donna (Steve) Orosz, Poland, OH, Greg (Edwina) Mrozek, New Castle, PA, Jeannette (Chris) Dwyer, Cayuga, NY, Jeffrey Mrozek, Granite City IL, and Renee Durbin, Columbiana, OH; grandchildren Amanda, Nathan (Annie), and Thaddeus (Jessica) Orosz, Jeremy (Mia) Mrozek, Ryan (Sheila) Mrozek, Nina (Justin) Jarrah, George Finamore, Hunter (Danica) and Hailey Durbin, and great grandchildren Ellie, Hattie, Geno, Luca, Elias, Silas and Sadie.
In addition to her parents and husband Edmund, Emily was preceded in death by Sisters Bernadine, Darlene, Mary, Dorothy and Helen Rose and brothers John, Steve, George, Edward and Martin.
PEACE DUDEM
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 4-7 PM at Noga Funeral Home, 1142 S. Mill Street New Castle, PA. A procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 8:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Parish- Mary Mother of Hope Site at 9 AM. Father Thomas Eisweirth will officiate. Burial will be at Madonna Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Emily’s name to Hospice House, Hospice of the Valley.
