Eugene P. (Pap) Dillon, 92, of Edinburg, PA passed away the morning of December 24, 2021 in UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Eugene was born in Brookville, PA on June 13, 1929 to the late Richard and Mary (Lynch) Dillon. He married the former Ruth E. Holly; she preceded him in death on August 1, 2021. They were married for 69 years. He was a loving family man and adored his wife.
Mr. Dillon was a World War II Veteran, serving in the United States Army. He enlisted on August 20, 1946 and was Honorably Discharged on December 22, 1947. He earned the rank of Private First Class and received the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. Mr. Dillon had also joined the United States Navy Reserves and received an Honorable Discharge from service on June 20, 1953.
Eugene loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed making crafts in his woodshop, gardening, and mowing grass.
Survivors include his five children, Donald (Janet) Dillon and Larry (Joyce Dillon), both of New Castle, Holly (Bryan) Hobel of Bessemer, PA, Lisa Suisi of New Castle, and Joel (Lori) Dillon of Volant, PA; six grandchildren, Amy Crews, Brandy Oslin, Stephanie Hobel, Bryan (Jessica Chappell) Hobel Jr., Matthew Suisi and Mellissa Suisi; eight great-grandchildren, Dillon (Autumn) Richards, Gage Crews, Kyla Ruth Hobel, Ethan Richards, Riley Crews, Bryan Hobel III, Sierra Adams, and Jaxon Oslin; one great-great-grandson, Colton Richards; and his granddog, Bentley
Mr. Dillon was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth E. Dillon; son-in-law, Jeffrey Suisi; and two grandsons, John Crews and David Crews.
There will be no visitation or services scheduled at this time per his request.
Mr. Dillon will be buried alongside his wife at Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle, PA.
