Evelyn R. (Klatka) Kosin

Evelyn R. Kosin, 84, formerly of Shenango Twp. passed away the evening of December 7, 2020 at Quality of Life Services in New Castle.

Evelyn was born October 7, 1936 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Sophie (Lechwar) Klatka. She was married to the late Stanley J. Kosin, Jr. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2018. They were married for 62 years. Evelyn was a member of Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church.  She was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1955.

Mrs. Kosin retired after 23 years of service as Head of the Cafeteria at Shenango High School. Evelyn loved to cook, garden, and read. She also enjoyed sewing, traveling, and going on trips with her family. Mrs. Kosin was a past president of the church Sunday school, and taught for 35 years. She was the Leader of the New Castle branch of T.O.P.S. Her greatest joy was during the holidays, preparing meals for her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Kosin is survived by her daughter, Roberta (Tim) Wells of New Castle; two sons, Richard Stanley (Jackie) Kosin of New Castle, and Kenneth Steven Kosin of Jersey City, NJ; three grandchildren, Christopher Wells, Matthew (Tiffany) Wells, and Jennifer Kosin; and six great-grandchildren, Abigale, Matthew, Jordan, Annabelle, Evelyn, and Jackson.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband Stanley.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 9 to 11 am at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle.

A Funeral service for immediate family and friends will follow visitation in the funeral home.  The Very Rev. John A. Rencewicz, II pastor of Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church will officiate. Rite of committal and burial will be in Holy Trinity PNC Cemetery.
