Fouad T. Mansour, 87, of 131 E. Long Ave, New Castle, passed away the evening of January 22, 2023.
Mr. Mansour was born December 18, 1935 in Marmarita Syria. He was the son the late Toofik and Afiffi (Faris) Mansour. He is married to Mary D. Saada. She survives at home. They were married for 67 years.
Fouad was a member of the Syrian Army. He was a self-employed construction contractor in Syria. Mr. Mansour was known for growing the greatest figs and grapes he used in making Arak. He was also known for his intuitive mind in repairing machinery and restaurant equipment for Mary’s restaurant. He was a work alcoholic up until his recent back injury a few months ago.
In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his four sons, Amer (Izdhr) Mansour, of Canfield OH, Samer F. Mansour, of New Castle, Maher (Sylvia) Mansour, of New Castle and Ghaiath (Rula) Mansour of Bridgeville, PA; three brothers, Michel (Elaine) Mansour, Ft. Lauderdale, Abdul (Samia) Mansour, of New Castle and Essa Mansour, of Milwaukee WI; three sisters, Edma Manief, Mary (Antonious) Saad, and Souad Mansour, all of Marmarita Syria; 12 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son and daughter-in-law, Hasam (Nahla) Mansour, and sister, Najla Basharra.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 5-7 P.M. at St. Elias Orthodox Church. A Trisagion Service will take place at 7 P.M. additional calling hours will be on Thursday morning January 26, 2023 from 10 to 11 A.M.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated in church on Thursday at 11 A.M. The Very Reverend Kevin G. Long, pastor of St. Elias Orthodox Church will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Nicholas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Elias Orthodox Church.
