Frances A. Heasley, 79, of New Castle, passed away the morning of November 22, 2025, at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC.
Frances was born July 23, 1946, in Sandusky, OH. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Frances (Merritt) Angus. Frances married the late William C. Heasley on August 8, 1970, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2025. Frances was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of Highland Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Sandusky High School, Class of 1964.
Mrs. Heasley retired after more than 30 years of service as a pari-mutuel clerk at Ladbrokes OTB, and also worked alongside her husband, William, at their telecommunications business. Frances enjoyed gardening, embroidering, sewing, and baking cookies for her family and friends. She loved hummingbirds and made sure to tell her children about the many different birds she saw. Mrs. Heasley was a woman of faith, and her church was very important to her. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Frances is survived by two children, Jeffrey (Bobbi) Heasley of New Castle and Janice (Andrew) Veres of Quakertown, PA; her sister, Carol (Al) Bauer of La Pine, OR; and four grandchildren, Cody Heasley, Gregory Heasley, Joe Heasley, and Evan Veres.
In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Angus, and sister, Beth Greene.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Highland Presbyterian Church, 708 Highland Ave., New Castle, PA 16101.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Reverend William Webster officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
