Francis Sniezek Obituary

Francis E. Sniezek said good-bye to earth, Wednesday, March 31st, 2021.  Francis’ wish was “to go down with his ship” and he passed away peacefully and painlessly in his much loved waterbed surrounded by his children and siblings who absolutely adored him. Now, happily in heaven with his beloved grandson, Ford Sniezek, Fran will continue to pursue his passions by teaching Ford to kayak, chop wood, play basketball and polka dance. Diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer on October 8th, 2020, he valiantly fought through 12 rounds of 5FU chemotherapy. Each chemo treatment, he would take a roller bag filled with hand weights so he could exercise during the long days of treatment.  He fought this terrible disease with strength, courage and dignity until his very last breath. Fran is described by family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues as “one of a kind” and was loved for his compassion, faith, kindness, wit, humor and his desire to help others in their time of need.

Francis entered the U.S. Army April of 1970 with last duty assignment, the 84th Army Band in Germany, and served until he was honorably discharged April of 1976 with the rank of Sergeant and receiving the National Defense Service Medal.  Fran was an Insurance agent and it was a joy for him to meet with and interact with his clients.  His employment history consists of Nationwide Insurance, West Penn/AAA Insurance Agency, CAPE Education, and most recently, for the last several years, The Navage Insurance Group of Beaver Falls, PA.  The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all of those at The Navage Group. Fran loved working with you and talked fondly and frequently about all of you.  Special thanks to the entire Hillman Oncology team which Fran endearingly referred to as “his A Team” and to Chartwell Infusion for their exceptional service that allowed Fran to get portions of his chemotherapy treatment at home. The family requests that all flowers be ordered through Macri Floral of Mars, PA. (724) 651-0913 Mike Macri is a long-time friend to Fran.  No memorial trees necessary. Donations can be made in memory of Fran to Choices Pregnancy Services: 626 5th Avenue, Coraopolis, PA 15108. 412-264-0200. Fran believed in the sanctity of human life and protection and help for the unborn. Fran will be missed immensely but the legacy and memories of this amazing man will live in our hearts forever.
