George W. Romonsky, 88, of 1611 S. Jefferson St. passed away the morning of June 26, 2021 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
George was born May 31, 1933 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Batcho) Romonsky. He was married to the former Evelyn Lutz. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2010. He attended the New Castle School system.
Mr. Romonsky was enlisted in the United States Army, and serviced his country during the Korean War. George retired after 43 years of service as an Operator with P&LE Railroad/CSX Railroad. His family was the most important thing to him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the lottery, and was an avid Pittsburgh Sports team fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
George is survived by four sons, George Romonsky, Andrew (Diane) Romonsky, Joseph (Manami) Romonsky, and John (Lori) Romonsky; brother, Walter Romonsky; thirteen grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife Evelyn, George was preceded in death by his son, David Romonsky; three brothers, Andrew Romonsky, Joseph Romonsky, and Stanley Romonsky.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 5 to 8 pm at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street.
A Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 10 am in the funeral home. Pastor Ronald Eade of the Church of Genesis will officiate. Following the funeral service, a procession will leave the funeral home for Committal services at Graceland Cemetery.
