Georgeanna "Dolly" (Kopsky) Shearer

Georgeanna (Dolly) Shearer, 88, of 598 Wilson Mill Road New Castle passed away the evening of Saturday March 21, 2026 in UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Georgeanna was born August 29, 1937 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late George and Bernice (Stalma) Kopsky. She was married to James W. Shearer. They were married for 70 years, he survives at home. Georgeanna was Roman Catholic and attended Holy Spirit Parish.

Mrs. Shearer will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. Dolly was very family oriented, she loved cooking for her family, and supporting her sons in all their sporting events. She loved car cruising and attending local classic car events. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and nieces. 

In addition to her husband James, Dolly is survived by her son, Todd W. (Shanay) Shearer of Boston, NY; sister, Carol Ketler of Hudson, OH; two grandchildren, Eric Shearer of Buffalo, NY and Elise Shearer (Gabriel Gorka) of Tampa, FL; and one great-granddaughter, Gianna Gorka of Tampa FL.

Mrs. Shearer was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Jeff Shearer (Patricia Craven) and Douglas L. Shearer; and grandson, Michael Shearer; and brother-in-law, Robert Ketler.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 Mill Street New Castle, PA.

A Blessing service will be held immediately following visitation in the funeral home at 3 p.m. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Fair Oaks Cemetery. The family is asking that memorial donations be made in Georgeanna’s name to National Breast Cancer 7460 Warren Pkwy, Suite 150 Frisco, TX 75034.
