Gladys M. Lasky, 99, of 190 Kristen Lane New Castle passed away the afternoon of April 20, 2024 at her residence.
Gladys was born July 1, 1924 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late James C. and Bertha D. (Robinson) French. Gladys was married to the late Theodore P. Lasky. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2005. They were married for 56 years. Gladys was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish. Mrs. Lasky was a graduate of Union High School, class of 1942. Gladys will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Gladys was a member of the silver threads. She was a member the former Altar Society at SS Philip and James Church. Her greatest joy was spending time sitting on her swing in the sunshine watching the neighborhood.
Gladys is survived by her son, Philip T. (Deborah) Lasky of New Castle; three grandchildren, Kristin (Wesley) Bok, Brittany (Jon Paul) Hedland, and Chelsea T. Lasky; and two great-grandchildren, Charlotte Rae Hedland, and Cora Lynn Hedland.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Theodore, Gladys was preceded in death by her sister, Bertha D. Smith; and six brothers, Paul, Charles, Jack, Joseph, Robert, and James French.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 10 am at Holy Spirit Parish-St. Vitus site. Rev. Benjamin Barr, Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in SS Philip and James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations to be made in her name to the Lawrence County Special Olympics 204 Abbey Road, New Castle, PA. 16105.
