Helen A. (Zaremba) Matonak

Helen A. Matonak, 101 passed peacefully on the morning of September 16, 2021.  She was born on December 2, 1919 in New Castle PA.  She is preceded in death by her parents Ignac and Katherine (Konopka) Zaremba. Helen was married to the late Aloys P. Matonak. He preceded her in death is 2005.  They were married for 57 years.  Mrs. Matonak was of Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish- St. Camillus Site. Helen was a 1937 graduate of Union High School.
Mrs. Matonak is survived by her sons William A. (Kathleen)Matonak, Trumbull CT, and James P. Matonak, Longmont, CO; grandchild Allison Matonak, Quincy MA, and 5 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Matonak is preceded in death by her brothers C. Paul Zaremba and Dr. Stanley Zaremba and sister Nellie Zoltani.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10 - 11 AM at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle.  A Blessing Service will immediately follow visitation in the funeral home at 11 AM. Deacon John Carran will officiate. Burial will be at Madonna Cemetery.
