Italo (Andy) Graziani, 90, of New Castle passed away the evening of April 28, 2021 at his residence.
Andy was born March 14, 1931 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Angelo and Theresa (Del-Bene) Graziani. He was married to the late Maryann Bobosky. She passed away July 13, 2017. They were married for 60 years. Andy was Roman Catholic and attended Holy Spirit Parish-Mary, Mother of Hope site. Mr. Graziani was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1949.
Following graduation, Mr. Graziani enlisted in the United States Army on September 5, 1950 in New Castle. Andy was a member of the NG Artillery unit. His most significant duty was with the service battery FA BN in Germany. Andy received the Occupation Medal (Germany), and earned the rank of Corporal. Mr. Graziani was Honorably Discharged on June 24, 1952.
Andy retired after 30 years of service as a Truck Driver for the Russell Trucking Company. He was a member of the Teamsters, Local 261. He enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening. Italo loved woodworking, and made many things for his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Andy is survived by his daughter, Marcia J. (Michael) Macri of Mars, PA; son, Andrew J. Graziani of New Castle; four grandchildren, Nikki, Matthew, Mark, and Jay Macri, all of Mars, PA.
In addition to his parents and wife Maryann, Andy was preceded in death by his infant grandson, Peter Angelo Macri.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street. A Blessing service will be conducted immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate.
A procession will leave the funeral home after the service for St. Vitus Cemetery, where Rite of Committal and the New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform full military honors for Mr. Graziani.
