Jack Russell Christ

Jack Russell Christ, 84, of 2577 Copper Road, New Castle passed away on June 3, 2021 unexpectedly at his home.

Jack was born August 3, 1936 in Johnstown, PA. He was the son of the late George and Claire (Wetzel) Christ. He was married for 63 years to the former Norah S. James. She survives at home. He was a graduate of Slippery Rock University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Mr. Christ retired from teaching at George Junior Republic. He enjoyed coaching track and basketball. Jack enjoyed spending time outdoors and tending to his garden.

Mr. Christ was a United States Navy Veteran.

In addition to his wife Norah, he is survived by his four children, Cheryl L. Christ of Wadsworth, OH, Kathleen A. Christ of North Canton, OH, Jim Christ of Hudson, OH and Rebecca A. (Steve) Hietsch of Canton, NY; brother, William (Carol) Christ of Lebanon, PA; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Christ.

In honoring his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held by the family at a later date.
