James B. Steinbrink

James B. Steinbrink, 62, of 1126 S. Mill Street, New Castle passed away the evening of February 11, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

James was born September 5, 1960 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Frederick E. and Patricia A. (Barber) Steinbrink. Mr. Steinbrink was a 1978 graduate of Lawrence County Vocational Technical School.

Following graduation, James enlisted in the United States Navy on January 5, 1981 in New Castle, PA James earned the rank of E-3 and received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He was Honorably Discharged on May 22, 1985 in San Francisco CA.  Mr. Steinbrink formerly worked as a cook at Nino’s Restaurant here in New Castle. He enjoyed the time he spent in the Navy. He was as tremendous cook and worked at several local restaurants.

Mr. Steinbrink is survived by his three daughters, Brianna J. Clark, Emma Rose Steinbrink, Jolene Laveva-Ann Steinbrink, all of New Castle; son, Frederick J. Steinbrink also of New Castle; two brothers, Frederick (Jay) (Vilma) Steinbrink of Williamsburg, VA and David R. (Anne) Steinbrink of New Castle; and his uncle, Richard (Jeanne) Barber of New Castle.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and aunt, Barbara Barber.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 11-1p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. New Castle. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform full Military Honors at 12:30 pm in the funeral home for Mr. Steinbrink.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated immediately following Military Honors in the funeral home. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that memorial donations be made in James to the Wounded Warrior Project, 600 River Ave. Ste 400, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
