Jean D. Buczek, 92, of Hermitage passed away the morning of June 10, 2026 at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Jean was born on December 12, 1933 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Sharek) Preisnar. She was married to the late John J. Buczek. They were married for 54 years. Jean was Roman Catholic and attended Holy Spirit Parish. She was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1951.
Mrs. Buczek worked for several years as an operator with the local Bell Telephone Company. She continued working with numerous local agencies like the Mercer County Community Action Agency. Jean enjoyed singing with the Shenango Valley Chorale, listening to polkas and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughters, Chloe and Addy.
Jean is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle L. (Jason) Stevens of Cranberry Twp. PA and two grandchildren, Chloe and Addison Stevens.
Mrs. Buczek was preceded in death by her parents and husband John Buczek, and daughter, Debbie Knis.
Visitation will be held on Monday morning, June 15, 2026 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for Holy Spirit Parish-St. Vitus site. Rev. Benjamin Bar Pastor of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Rite of Committal and burial will be in SS Philip and James Cemetery.
