Joann M. Beshero, 90, of 406 Waldo Street New Castle passed away the morning of December 12, 2025 with her family by her side
Joann was born January 11, 1935 in Farrell. PA. The daughter of the late Naseeb and Thresa (Thomas) Rice. Joann was married to the late George A. Beshero. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1997, they were married for 41 years. Joann was of the Roman Catholic faith and member of St. John the Baptist Maronite Catholic Church. Mrs. Beshero was a graduate in 1952 from St. Gregory High School in Detroit, MI.
Mrs. Beshero will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked outside the home with the New Castle School District as a bus monitor and aide. Joann also worked with the New Castle Library in the Book Cellar. She was the founding member of the LSD card club, she enjoyed knitting, and doing ceramics on Monday nights. Joann was a member of the Red Hat Society and Friends of the Library. Her family will always remember the many Tuesday night family dinners. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joann is survived by her daughter, Terry Ferrucci of Wampum, PA; two sons, George A. (Linda) Beshero of Boardman, OH, and Richard C. Beshero of New Castle;; four grandchildren, Shauna (Ryan) Mulhollen, David (Erika) Beshero, Lauren (Vince) Butka, and Rachel (Mike) Roberts; and six great-grandchildren, Tyler and Madison Mulhollen, Olive and Alma Beshero, and Liam and Micah Butka.
In addition to her parents and husband George, Joann was preceded in death by her son, David M. Beshero; bothers, Judge Raymond Rice, Louis Rice, and Ronald Rice; and son-in-law, Ralph Ferrucci.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 4 to 7 pm at the Noga Funeral Home Inc.1142 Mill St. New Castle Pa. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 pm in the funeral home, Rev. Hanna Karam of St. John the Baptist Maronite Catholic Church will officiate.
A Procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday, at 10 a.m. for St. John the Baptist Maronite Catholic Church. Where a Mass of Christian Burial and Rite of Committal will be held at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Hanna Karam, Pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
