John K. Collins, 78, of 1716 Pennsylvania Ave. New Castle passed away the evening of June 3, 2021 at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh, North Carolina.
John was born February 18, 1943 in New Castle. He was the son of the late William and Evelyn (Davis) Collins. He was married to the former Diane D. Nogay. They were married for 54 years and she survives at home. Mr. Collins was a graduate of New Castle Area High School, class of 1961. He was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish.
John retired after numerous years of service as a Laborer with General Electric of Grove City. Mr. Collins was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan. John loved and embraced technology. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. They were the most important thing in his life and he enjoyed traveling to see them.
In addition to his wife Diane, John is survived by two daughters, Lori A. Clark of New Castle and Linda (Mike) McAteer of Raleigh, NC; son, John S. (Kelly) Collins of Wylie, TX; sister, Peggy Grebe, Pensacola, FL; brother-in-law, Donald (Judy) Nogay of New Castle; five grandchildren, Alyssa Clark, Kaylee McAteer, Tiffanie McAteer, Lucas Collins, and Mila Collins; his two nephews; and faithful dog and companion, Cooper.
John was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Collins; two step-sisters, Anne Johnston and Jane Hesidenz.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle.
A Blessing Service and Rite of Committal will be conducted immediately following visitation in the funeral home on Friday. Dr. Joseph Ross deacon of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in SS Phillip and James Cemetery.
